Statewide Addressing & Mapping Update WV Eastern Panhandle GIS Users Group Meeting September 2, 2015

Current Status SAMS I is still functioning, third of the state still uses the Oracle platform on a daily basis. USPS conversions are ongoing and more counties are finishing up their conversions. Counties need to continue work on their telephone conversions with Frontier. If you need contact information please ask. Currently working, in conjunction with the WV GIS Technical Center, on upgrading SAMS.

SAMS II: The Next Generation Currently working with Kevin Kuhn and his team on upgrading SAMS from Oracle to the ESRI Local Government model. There are three stages that are taking place to make this a success: Stage 1: Development & Testing (Ongoing) Stage 2: Deployment of SAMS II (December/January) Stage 3: Development of tool that will allow offline counties to upload their addressing data directly out of their ArcGIS desktop application or their CAD system (2016)

What’s Next? Once SAMS II is ready for deployment we will work with counties, who rely on SAMS as their main platform, to provide training and support. Once the tool is ready for deployment, we will work together with those counties to install the tool on their desktops and provide training and support. Remove challenges facing the counties when it comes to uploading their latest addressing data into SAMS.
