WHO Technical Reference Group Paediatric HIV/ART CARE Salle D WHO Geneva, SWITZERLAND 10 - 11 April 2008

Meeting objectives Review existing WHO recommendations Review evidence summaries prepared for when to start ART in infants, what ART regimens to use and whether diagnostic and monitoring protocols need to be modified. Determine whether revisions to WHO recommendations are required Develop consensus on final evidence based recommendations. Identify simple implementation tools required Identify key recommendations for research.

Expected outputs Consensus on whether revisions to WHO ART recommendations are required. Revised recommendations for initiation and follow up of ART in infants (if required). Revised recommendations for diagnostic testing and follow up of HIV exposed infants (if required). Described implementation steps and required simple implementation tools. Recommendations for urgent research required relating to ART in infants
