Speak your truth & allow others to do the same Our Meeting Norms Clean up your space (put trash, recycle and compost in appropriate bins) Speak your truth & allow others to do the same Cellphones on Silent BE SAFE BE RESPECTFUL BE RESPONSIBLE

The Golden Circle “WHY” informs our “HOW” and “WHAT” Turn and talk to a partner and share your “WHY”

Connecting to the Organizational “WHY” Select 1-2 sentences from your CBO Mission Statement that exemplifies the CBO “Why”

Mission/Vision Statement ExCEL has embraced the SFUSD’s commitment to student success by creating a responsive, intentionally designed system that encourages high quality programming.   ExCEL strategically aligns its resources and efforts with SFUSD’s articulated priorities, and ensures compliance with the California Department of Education’s (CDE) grant guidelines and new state-wide Expanded Learning Quality Standards.

Unpacking the “WHYs” The QAP’s “why” is different than the CBO “why” because it operationalizes the components that are in alignment with SFUSD and Vision 2025. :

From the WHY to the HOW ExEL partners with the CBO to support capacity building through multiple resources

Tools of the Trade: Supporting Adult Learning Academic Alignment Safe and Supportive Culture and Climate Healthy Active Youth

Tools of the Trade: Supporting Adult Learning Academic Alignment Safe and Supportive Culture and Climate We are in similar situations Healthy Active Youth

Feedback Loop: How Do We Know What We Don’t Know? Rating Scale: No actionable space

Feedback Loop System: Creates Structure to Find Out WHAT is Needed.. “Not enough time to truly and meaningfully integrate ideas into program” “The push back from some staff” “Time for buy-in from volunteers and staff” “Our staff meetings are only 15-20 minutes long”

SSCC - How to Support What is NEEDED Time Buy-in Create Tools To: Address Needs Build Skills Elevate What is Already Working

Shifted to Supporting Capacity of Site Coordinators: Problem Solving Flow Sheet

Environmental Observation Form

Content vs. Skill How can you use these tools to plan for the training, as well as model for site coordinators how to use the tools themselves? Keep in Mind: How do you know their needs are? How will you move from content to skills? How will blend it with your CBO culture?

What’s Happening on the QAP Journey? Mini Check #1 Attendance Compliance Review (due in EMS by 11/8) Mini Check Site Observation Include the site team (principal, AL,) as much as possible

Sample of Questions ExCEL has received regarding Attendance Compliance from SC’s: “I just wanted to confirm who should we submit the EMS attendance compliance sheets to since Alice is on maternity leave. Also are we submitting them physically or scanning them like last time? Hope to hear from you soon.” “How do I run the ADA reports on EMS to fill out the Attendance Compliacn Form?” How come EMS locks on the 5th? 1. QAP Coaches 2. We are going paperless 3.
