WHAT IS NAVIANCE? A comprehensive website that you and your student can use to make plans about colleges, and careers. 

NAVIANCE Naviance student allows your student to: Get involved in the planning and advising process – Build a resume, complete online surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers Research colleges – See what colleges are coming to the CCC, Utilize the Super Match college search to compare requirements. Add colleges to your favorites, and mark colleges that you are thinking about & applying too. Research careers – Research hundreds of careers and career clusters, and take career assessments including the Career Interest Profiler. Watch videos provided by Road Trip Nation. Create plans for the future – Create goals and to-dos, and complete tasks assigned by the school to better prepare your student for future college and career goals. Access Links - College Board, ACT, Bright Futures, SUS Matrix, NCAA, FASFA, Scholarships, etc.

POST SECONDARY PROCESS Application (typically online or through Common App, Send Edu, Coalition) Order your transcripts to be sent Order your AP/SAT/ACT scores to be sent to colleges/universities Note: Even if you are taking the SAT/ACT again, go ahead and APPLY NOW and then check the box saying that you are taking the test again. *****Please encourage your student to check their emails accounts. Check Gmail through Launch & personal accounts to make sure you are getting information from their counselor & universities that they have applied to*****

COMPETITIVE ADMISSION Admission into Florida’s State Universities is limited by space available. Acceptance into a college for “early decision” depends on the number of qualified applicants To increase their chances for admission into college, students should exceed the minimum high school diploma requirements Take honors and AP classes when available BUT DO NOT DROP THEM ONCE YOU TELL COLLEGES.

BRIGHT FUTURES School Counselors will be coming your students English classes on October 18th & 19th to walk them through completing the Bright Futures Application. If you have English off campus – please come to the CCC on October 19th any period Make sure they have their Social Security number in the system so that they can complete the application. Please check with your guidance counselor if you are unsure if it has been entered on your record.
