Water Cycle http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=water+cycle+song+magic+school+bus&&view=detail&mid=22EE7693CA3FB8267FAF22EE7693CA3FB8267FAF&FORM=VRDGAR

Write all words in RED

Bonus Vocab Attack! Adhesion: between unlike molecules. Cohesion: between like molecules. DRAW both PICTURES Don’t need to add the eyes and shoes :P 

Surface Tension Due to cohesion it creates a water “skin like” layer This allows organisms to float, walk, or even run on water

Plants: Capillary Action Cohesion + Adhesion allows water to travel up a tube/plant Plants are able to pull water from their roots all the way to their leaves this way!

2. Water moderates temperatures on Earth. Water stabilizes air temperatures by absorbing heat from air that is warmer and releasing the stored heat to air that is cooler. Large bodies of water draw in a lot of heat  making the land around them cooler.

Think pair share Extra Credit Questions: What is the role of plants in the water cycle? How does deforestation affect the water cycle?

Carbon Cycle

How is Matter recycled Unlike the one-way flow of energy, matter is recycled within and between ecosystems!!!!!!

How does Carbon get into the Environment? Photosynthesis Plants and Animal Decomposed: atoms returned back to environment Not Decomposed fully: deposits underground turn into fossil fuels Human Impact Burning Fossil Fuels: releases carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas that traps heat in an environment. The heat causes the temperature of earth to rise causing global warming.
