National Framework for Service Change Neurosciences Action team Assessment Criteria National Framework for Service Change Neurosciences Action team Monday 10th January 2005

Agreed Criteria Co location on a university teaching hospital site Co location of paediatric and adult neurosurgical services There should be specialist neurosurgical beds, theatre facilities, ICU, HDU and multi disciplinary teams There should be co-location with other neuroscience specialties i.e. neurosurgery should be located within a neuroscience context.

Agreed Criteria (2) Provision of 24 hour care by a multi disciplinary team. Equity of access Local services The ability to meet recognised standards e.g. SBNS, SIGN Guidelines for the management of head injury.

Agreed Actions Each member of the action team to weight the individual criteria. The total of each weighting should be 100. Individual weightings sent to J Miller by 6th January 2005. J Miller to collate the individual weightings

Next Steps Agree whether final weighting should be based on average or median of individual weights Use the agreed final weighting to assess each of the agreed options.
