Figure 1 Partnership Opportunities in Screening The different steps in a screening process are illustrated and the possible roles of academia, foundations, service providers, and pharmaceutical companies are illustrated. In an ideal collaboration, academia would develop the cells and protocols and transfer them to a service provider, who would scale up the assay and deliver the cells to pharma, who would run the assay for discovery or other kinds of screens.
