Group Activity: Peer Review Exchange the 2nd drafts of your rhetorical analysis essays with the classmate of your choice Read through the student’s essay, marking where appropriate, and answer the following questions: What is the student’s thesis? Does this fulfill the necessary criteria for a rhetorical analysis thesis? What transitional word or phrase are used at the beginning of every body paragraph? How is each rhetorical appeal evaluated? (Give the word used for the evaluation: “good,” “terrible,” etc. Is each rhetorical appeal evaluation matched with an example that fits its characterization? (i.e. If ethos was “great,” does the student provide a “great” ethos example? Check for each rhetorical appeal) What is the best part of the student’s essay or the part you like the most? What is the part of the student’s essay that needs the most revision?
