Welcome Conceptual Physics

What is needed for class Class set of books Online book you can access on the school fusion site Ruler, calculator you can not use your phones 3 ring binder This will be checked Dividers (notes, key terms, reviews for tests, class work)

Grades Assessments 60% Practice 40% Tests 30% Class projects 30% Class work 15% Quizzes 15% Science expo, labs (non pre- ap classes) 10%

Late work We do not accept late work: because we will complete class work in class *unless you need more time and you have used your time wisely* (make sure to ask for extra time before you leave the class) Class projects: will be assigned a month before they are due (no late projects) * unless a family emergency

Absence Find what you missed and copy the notes from a classmate Work will be posted on the school fusion site Worksheets given will be in the folders in the classroom (found in the back of the room) You will be given one day for each day you are absent (district policy) If you know you will be absent (sports/school activity) turn in before you leave If you are on campus you still need to turn in your work

Helpful hint

Extra credit You can receive extra credit by doing work above and beyond the requirements You can only receive extra credit on an assignment that you have received full credit for (meaning you received a 100%)

Science expo Pre- Ap Every student is required to complete the paper work, and produce a research project Every project must be approved by the SRC (even if you are not competing in expo) 5% extra credit will be added to your 3rd nine weeks grade ONLY IF YOU COMPETE IN EXPO All projects will be due the day of expo Those not competing will present projects in class

Always be prepared for class

Classroom rules Be in your seat when the bell rings not walking in the room seated and ready for class. No talking while the teacher or a classmate is talking Keep the room clean Leave the books on the table at the end of every class (if you want a book you need to check one out during lunch or before school) No horse play during labs (will be removed from the lab and receive a 0)
