Scholastic System management and the kite project

Review of 2012 - 13 Once we got past the initial shock and awe of the Scholastic System, we had great success in completing the testing in a timely manner. We tested over 19,000 students on SRI, another 19,000 in SMI, and over 10,000 used Fastt Math and/or Fraction Nation. That’s a credit to what YOU have done at the building levels!!! THANK YOU!

Objectives Scholastic Consultant Visits Promote from 2012-13 to 2013-14 Deactivating Students (Process and Reasons) Managing Enrollment Managing Teacher accounts

Scholastic Consultant Visits Will take place in late September/early October. Focus is on the application of SMI data to our daily math review time.

Promotion from 12-13 to 13-14 So you’re running reports and your data just doesn’t seem right. Have you checked your calendar? Let’s just make it work the way you want it to: Let’s turn the page and start a new year! School Start Date: 8/1/13 School End Date: 6/27/13 Make sure to Set Period 1 to match

Deactivating Students So a student has moved from your building and is still showing up on your building data: Check with your Office Manager to ensure the student has truly left Check to see if the student has left the district completely If the student has simply moved to a different school in-district, we will need to wait for the next update for the data to migrate. If the student has completely left the district, let’s get rid of them!

Managing Enrollment So a student is not able to log in or doesn’t show up on your schools roster: Never add a student manually 9 out of 10 times, this is due to an inaccuracy in Infinite Campus (check with your Office Manager) They student may be lost in the system. Let’s rescue them!

Managing Teacher Accounts Sometimes just not saying something isn’t enough: You are the “admin” for the system at your building (Yes, that’s a lot of responsibility!) Let’s limit what everyone has access to

So now what? Please remember there are always how-to videos located on the “Technology Resources” page. Please call email with issues. It’s so much easier to fix something prior to it being broken.

Kite Project!!! Building Principals have been updated and shown the project. They also have access to the materials. We can work these trainings into our building PD time. River Woods Pilot
