Effective Presentation Strategies Quest 2016 Effective Presentation Strategies

Explanation of Ideas & Information Presents information and findings concisely and logically Line of reasoning can easily be followed Selects information, develops ideas, and uses a style appropriate to the purpose, task, and audience Clearly and completely addresses alternative/ opposing perspectives

Organization Meets all requirements for what should be included in a presentation Has a clear and interesting introduction (ability to get students and teachers to stop and listen) and conclusion (audience leaves impacted) Organizes time well

Eyes & body Maintains eye contact with audience Uses natural gestures and movements Looks poised and confident Wears professional attire

Voice Speaks clearly; not too quickly or slowly Speaks loud enough for everyone to hear Changes tone and pace to maintain interest Rarely uses filler words Adapts speech for the context and task

Presentation Aids Uses well-produced audio/visual aids (display boards, laptop, etc.) to enhance understanding of findings, reasoning, and evidence Aids help to add interest to presentation Smoothly brings audio/visual aids or media into presentation
