2017-2018 Accomplishments 8 States submitted HVR Projects Research and Innovation Symposiums MA hosted the 7th MassDOT Innovation and Mobility Exchange, April 2018 and the 18th Moving Together Conference, September 2017 VT hosted first in September 2017 (in State House, Sept 18) CT hosted the 2018 Northeast Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Summit, June 2018 New England Transportation Consortium Lead State Transition: Maine from Vermont Started three “Quick Response” tasks, partly to spend funds under VT Coordination: CAV Cross-Border Issues, Research Benefits Quantification, QA Asphalt MA hosted the 7th MassDOT Innovation and Mobility Exchange, two-day event, April 2018 Purpose: bring diverse stakeholders together to share ideas, sponsor peer-to-peer learning, and collaborate on transportation issues of mutual interest. 1,237 registrations, 93 sponsors and exhibitors, and 40 sessions MA hosted the 18th Moving Together Conference, September 2017 Purpose: advance healthy transportation in MA 844 registrations, 45 sponsors and exhibitors, and 19 sessions

2017-2018 Accomplishments NHDOT Memorial ‘Living’ Bridge received international exposure! >> Revised Project Selection Processes MassDOT, DelDOT, NH DOT, ConnDOT New Contract Language MD will now hold 10% retainage on all university invoices until final deliverables are accepted by MDOT SHA DE has expanded their process to include two other public universities Newsletters An additional pilot study is underway. Next time you take a walk around Prescott Park you may notice a platform attached to the southern pier. This is the platform where they have recently deployed a turbine system. Instruments on the platform will collect data on tides, turbidity and salinity as well as chlorophyll and oxygen levels in the water. It is anticipated that the tidal energy created by the turbine will power the structural sensors and the possibility of much more electrical demand. Stay tuned. CT published the annual CTDOT Research Bulletin in January 2018 NH put out Focus on Research in May 2018

2018-2019 Goals & Activities Need to choose host state for 2020 Summer RAC Meeting! Previous hosts include RI, VT, ME, CT, NJ Target to have selection by TRB Annual Meeting RAC Peer Exchanges Expected RI, PA, DC, MA, MD Possible one or more of these might be a multi-state exchange

2018-2019 Goals & Activities New manuals and materials New newsletter DC: manual update (finally!), including a revised approach to obligations DE is updating their manuals MD: new invoice format to specify holding retainage on university projects NH: new research solicitation posters and RNS forms for internal use that focus on benefit and implementation New newsletter VT: consultant contract for quarterly e-Newsletter using Symposium content New Project Selection Process CT: assemble CTDOT Research Advisory Group/Committee

2018-2019 Goals & Activities Innovative product awareness NH creating a GIS Innovation Viewer as a public resource for completed uses of innovative products or practices New UTC kicking off Focus on infrastructure renewal >> Led by University of Maine (go Black Bears!) Hoping to be more state DOT research- oriented so they can better help the region.
