Texas History 2nd Semester Mr. Noel D101

What to expect? Similar to last semester - notes combined with hands on work We will cover everything from Texas as a Republic up to the present day

Procedures Assignment Turn-in boxes Late folder Do Now basket Do Now board placement Homework rules Clear desk when working Stay away from my desk unless you have my permission

Class Rules See front board DO NOT get out of your seat!!! No chewing gum Leave your attitude at the door

Grades If you come to class, complete all of your work, and turn it all in, you will pass the class The only way to fail the class is to not complete all of your work or not turn in your work If you turn in all of your work (with effort), and study for tests/quizzes, you will most likely make an A or B Grades are earned, not given

Late Work Automatic 15 points off Turn it in the late work folder Make sure your name and period are on it

INB You need a new INB this semester Have it in class by Thursday I will check to see if you have it for a grade This semester we will set it up differently, you will always just put the work in on the next available page

Voice Level 0 – Silence 1 – Whisper Voice 2 – Table Talk Voice 3 – Outside Voice If you can’t handle voice levels above 0, we will always be at voice level 0. Enjoy the time I give you to talk, do not take advantage of it I did not do a good job of enforcing this last semester, I will do a better job of enforcing it this semester

Music Anyone is allowed to listen to music You may only listen to music while you are working independently I reserve the right to take away your music privileges, as a class or individually While listening to music, do not have your phone out to mess around on it, if you have to use youtube to listen to music, turn your phone over so you can’t see the screen If I can hear your music it is too loud, I will give you one warning and then you lose your privileges Do not take 10 minutes to pick a song

Materials It is not my job to have materials for you It is YOUR job to bring materials to class You need - Pen/Pencil/Highlighter - INB - Any work we have started but not finished - Glue - Other materials when instructed

Questions?

2016 Goals You need to come up with 5 goals for the New Year - 2 for this classroom - 2 for your school goals - 1 for outside school List the 5 goals, and then write 2-3 sentences for each one on how you plan on striving towards and ultimately reaching that goal Time – 12 minutes Voice Level - 0

Content Review Where did we leave off? Battle of San Jacinto… Treaties of Velasco… Texas as a Republic…
