Silent Squares: The Goal The group needs to assemble four squares of identical size with the twelve pieces.

Silent Squares Rules NO Speaking, pointing, grunting, or nudging.  NO taking pieces from other members of the group.  No requesting pieces from other members of the group.  Giving a piece to another member of the group, however is allowed. 

Reading Transcripts Half of the people in the group will read the Hong Kong transcript (pp 1-4) and half will read the Australia transcript. For your transcript: Identify the questions/prompts the teacher poses to students. Sort the questions. Explain how you decided to sort them. Work on this task individually for 10 minutes. Then share your work with the rest of your table.
