Microbes, Plants , and You Activity #38 Microbes, Plants , and You

Activity 38: Microbes, Plants, and You White Space ?: What do you think plant cells, animal cells, and protist cells have in common? What do you think might be different? (3-4 sentences) Challenge Question: What structures do different types of cells have in common? What is different? Background: none (Yeah!) Vocabulary: Cell: the basic structure and function of a living thing Lugol’s Solution: a type of chemical used to stain object so they look darker under the microscope Swab: to gently scrape the objects with a toothpick or q-tip.

Activity 38: Microbes, Plants, and You Materials: Read over the list on p C-43 Procedure: Read p C-43 to C-46 and check off if you understand. Data: Use the Microbes, Plants, and You Microscope Drawing Handout

Activity 38: Microbes, Plants, and You Analysis Questions: Answer questions C-46 #1-4 in your lab notebook. You must incorporate some of the new vocabulary terms shown in the book. COMPLETE SENTENCES!!! Conclusion: What things did you notice were the same with the Amoeba slide, the cheek cell, and the onion cell? What was different? Explain anything else you learned. COMPLETE SENTENCES!!! Notes to Self: Did you give me quality answers today? Fix them if you did not.
