Swim/Dive Packet Permission forms, physical forms, and insurance forms must be returned by Friday, October 12th to Coach K. No one can practice without a completed packet. Registration fee is $50.00, please write a check to DFA Swim.
Eligibility If you are concerned about eligibility check with Coach K to see if you are eligible to swim….make sure you are in good academic/conduct standing. Once the roster is complete Ms. Landis will check your grades and let us know if anyone is not eligible to swim.
Practice Times Damascus Road Practices start Monday, October 15, 2018 It is important that you come to practice on time. Wear suit/shorts/sneakers for dry-land before swim. Bring a water bottle to every practice Monday – Friday 4:45 – 5:50 p.m. October 15 – 26 @Augusta Aquatics Center 3157 Damascus Road *Check sports page for conditioning w/Coach K
Tryouts October 15 – 19 during practice. Team roster will be announced at practice Friday Oct 19th 500 yards in 15 minutes, and know how to swim freestyle and backstroke. Must be able to swim a 50 free and 50 backstroke without stopping ALL swimmers be prepared to swim a 500 during a meet this year.
Practice Uniform Each swimmer will receive a team t-shirt and cap with the registration fee. Athletes are responsible for goggles and swim suit. Racing suit only Girls - No two piece suits Boys – jammers(long shorts) or briefs Swim cap for long hair Bring water!
Meet Uniform Our team suit is a black racing suit Augusta swim supply has suits and our DFA logo for the suit. Approx. cost of suit and logo is around $50(price depends on store) You can purchase a black racing suit from any local sports store or online vendor; speedo, arena, etc DFA swim cap – coach will supply
Nutrition & Hydration EAT FOOD EVERYDAY! Stay hydrated ! DON'T skip breakfast or lunch! Do not eat McDonalds or Bojangles right before practice or a meet. If you need a snack at the end of the day during swim season stop by Coack K's office.
Meets Meets are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Need to be at the AAC by 4:45pm ready to warm-up at 5pm. Please look over the schedule to see if there are any conflicts. Let me know as soon as possible if you will not be able to attend a meet. *Remember if a student is absent from school on the day of the meet, they will be not be allowed to swim that night.
Meets continued Meets end 8:30 – 9:00 p.m. Bring homework The team is expected to stay until the end to support team mates who swim the last events.
Varsity Letter Requirements Good attendance (90% or better) Earn top points for the team Place in the top 5 at County Championship Meet in an individual event or in a relay. Good sportsmanship and attitude.

Parent Volunteers DFA is home team 11/1 & 11/8 Need 13 volunteers to help, time, score, setup, and cleanup. Other meets we will be required to have 3-4 volunteers as backup for the home team. Meet officials Please sign up for meets.
