OPERATION RESTORATION Bringing old buildings back to life

Facts and figures about construction Employs 3,000,000 people – 8% of the working population 232,000 jobs to be created in the next five years (2016 – 2020) Industry predominately made up of small companies The average 18-21 year olds in construction earn £15,145 – compared with an average of £9,594 in other industries Bullet point 1 - Three million people is nearly double the population of the UK’s second largest city, Birmingham. Women account for 14% of the UK’s construction workforce. Bullet point 2 – 232,000 jobs to be created in the next 5 years (2016–2020). Britain has a reputation for world-class design, inspirational architecture and the highest quality building work.
