Presentation transcript:

Evolutionary Participatory Plant Program Identification of suitable gene pools to start a participatory program of evolutionary plant breeding What is the Evolutionary program? A population with a large amount of genetic variability by mixing equal amount of F2 seeds and leave the natural selection to recognize the final gene pools with time.

the population will be planted in locations affected by different stresses or different combinations of stresses (drought, salinity, organic system, and low inputs), the population will become progressively better adapted to those stresses or combinations of stresses.

What kind of crop? Barley Wheat How locations were been selected? Locations chosen for representing areas of rural poverty and characterized by high temperatures and low rainfall. What is the possible another use of evolutionary? As an index of gene pool response to climate change per location.
