Badger Exception Monitoring 18 exceptions reported in badger, however on investigation 12 of these were not true exceptions to network care pathways as ventilation episodes were < 48 hours and the cooling baby was transferred out. 7 exceptions of babies ventilated >48 hours were reported by the LNUs as discussed with the NICUs. (NB. One baby Ventilated at PRH > 48hrs was an IUT from RSUH at 28 weeks due to lack of cots and was repatriated on day 4.) In addition to the above exceptions to care pathways 9 babies were born in LNUs below the gestational threshold in Q4 [SaTH (2) and RHH (1), WMH (6) 6 babies were transferred out to an NICU in 1st 12 hours. 3 babies died (1 at each LNU) at < 12 hours of age
