To address safe use and handling of aromatic Diisocyanates and Polyols for industrial and professional users in the PU Industry To enable Downstream Users to demonstrate safe use of chemicals through adequate operating conditions and consistent use of risk management measures Demonstrating safe use helps the user to be REACH compliant To support continuous effort to generate and reinforce a responsible attitude towards health, safety and environment on all enterprise levels To strengthen ISOPA’s commitment to the education of users, producers and others in the supply chain to promote responsible practices associated with their products. As a trainer You need to familiarize yourself in depth with the content of the “Walk the Talk” slide pack and the supporting materials, such as Safety Data Sheets and videos. You need to be able to explain the contents of the extended Safety Data Sheet (eSDS) in relation to “Walk the Talk” and REACH compliance Ideally, you should know your customer‘s premises or seek opportunity for a joint visit with your audience to identify potential unsafe situations or behaviours Be flexible and adapt the presentation to the audience needs/situation Offer the training package in all available languages on CDs or memory sticks to your audience and make them aware of the www.isopa.org . Revision 2015
As a trainer you must understand and be able to explain the contents of the eSDS. Reading and understanding the eSDS is a MUST for downstream users to achieve compliance with REACH requirements. The eSDS contains information on applications, safe handling and the conditions to demonstrate safe use of chemicals in the workplace. “Walk the Talk” combines guidance on safe handling of products like MDI and TDI with details on regulatory REACH compliance, allowing safe use through applying the Risk Management Measures (RMM) and Operational Conditions (OC) as outlined in the Exposure Scenarios appended to the SDS compliant with REACH. At a later stage exposure scenario’s will be added to preparations/mixtures. Revision 2015
