Behavioral Science Presentations

Group Work There will be 8 groups. Each group will be assigned a different topic. Groups will need to create a thesis, research and then present a 15-20 minute presentation. You will be given two classes to prepare and 15-20 minutes on the 3rd class date. Each presentation will be 15-20 minutes. On last day of presentation you will be given group surveys to ensure everyone did their fair share.

Possible Topics Anti-Immigration Laws in the United States - How has the implementation and creation of anti-immigration laws created barriers for immigrants? Technology and Communication – Should cyber bullying be illegal? School – Do students like their teachers more in younger grades or older grades? Advertising - How does advertising directed toward women of different age groups in magazines vary in content and frequency? Gender – Do toys teach stereotypical gender roles? Teenager Parents - Do shows like 16 & Pregnant fail to show the father’s experience impacting how current and future fathers in society value parenting? Book vs. Movie – Why do people think the book is better? (Are movies “dumb” down for the general audience?) Sports – What are the different ways the media frames black and white quarterbacks? (Are white quarterbacks seen as better leaders of a National Football League (NFL) team?)
