Suez Canal Crisis -Second Arab-Israeli War: Conflict between Israel and Egypt during 1950s -Gamal Abdel Nasser became a new Egyptian leader in 1952, and US & Britain were fearful -Nasser tried to have a good relationship with US & British. He asked for funding for the Aswan High Dam to help Egypt’s farming and hydroelectricity. -Meanwhile, he’s also asking help from communist countries - Why is this a problem during the 1950s? -Nasser ended up nationalizing/controlling the Suez Canal - This angered the West: British & French forces invade Egypt with Israel

Is Nasser a good guy or bad guy?
