Essential Question: Is Love Stronger than Hate? Journal 4-1 Essential Question: Is Love Stronger than Hate?

Journal 4-2: The Object of Love Choose 6 different objects in the classroom. Write a 14-line love poem to your crush using all of the objects in poem. Then, for the remainder of the journal, write your analysis of the poem. (i.e. explain what it means, why those objects, etc.)

Journal 4-3: Josh Groban Song Analysis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41qBffVg154 Listen to the song and complete an analysis of the song, using the SOAPS acronym (Subject, Occasion, Audience, Purpose, Speaker)

Journal 4-4: Ignorance is Bliss It has often been said, “Ignorance is bliss,” and “What you don’t know won’t hurt you.” Do you agree with these statements? Why or why not?

Journal 4-5: High School Confessions Choose an opening line and continue the rest in your journal: “Nobody knows that I…” “The worst thing I’ve ever done…” “If I could go back and change one thing, it would be…”

Journal 4-6: My Person Who is the most important person in your life? Why? What could you do to improve the relationship? Will you ever actually do it?

Journal 4-7: Last Journal! You are (almost) done with your first year of high school. Was it all you thought it would be? Do you feel like you made the most out of it? What do you expect for the next three years? What will you do/change to make sure you have no regrets when you graduate?
