Theme this term: Existence This week: The Father The Way of the Day

In the name of the Father, The Sign of the Cross In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Last week we learned that we are called to have faith and that faith is a response to God’s great love and all that He has done for us. But who is God? Our faith and trust in God will grow as we continue to learn more about Him. This week we will be learning more about our great and loving God, who is the beginning and end of everything, and focusing on God the Father who is the creator of everything.

A reading from the book of Exodus God called to Moses: 'Moses, Moses!' he said. 'Here I am,' he answered. I am the God of your ancestors,' he said, 'the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.' At this Moses covered his face, for he was afraid to look at God. - Exodus 3:4,6

He desires to be in a relationship with us. Reflection God is our Father. He desires to be in a relationship with us. Sometimes we imagine God to be like our own father or examples of fathers we see in our daily lives or in the media. In some circumstances these fathers give us a good example of God the Father, and in other circumstances they give us a bad example of a father and maybe we, like Moses, are afraid of God and want to “hide our face” from Him.

Spend a moment of quiet to think about how your own experience of fathers. Has that experience affected how you think of God the Father?

God the Father wants a relationship with you. He has created you with a purpose - for a specific reason - and He has created you to be His son or daughter.

We pray together using the same words Jesus used to pray to His Father Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come Thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. Amen

In the name of the Father, The Sign of the Cross In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
