Sunnah (or Hadith) Compilation of the practices, traditions , and sayings of Muhammad Also considered a guide for Muslims Important for Muslims to follow the examples of Muhammad, considered the best role model of what a Muslim should be.

Example Courteousness very polite in a way that shows respect Read the hypothetical situation Nadia, a young Muslim girl, is selected by her teacher, Mr. Rambis, as “citizen of the month” for her friendly and cooperative behavior. After class, Mr. Rambis asks Nadia where she learned to be so courteous. According to the translation of the excerpts from the Qur'an and Hadith below how do you think Nadia would respond? Why?

Example Courteousness very polite in a way that shows respect Qur’an IV: 86 “When a (courteous) greeting Is offered you, meet it With a greeting still more Courteous, or (at least) Of equal courtesy. God takes careful account Of all things.” From the Hadith: “Abdullah Ibn’ Amr Ibn Al’Aas (may God be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) neither talked indecently, nor did he listen to indecent talk. He use to say: “The best of you are those who have the best manners.” Always be nice and return greetings. From the Hadith: “Abu Dharr (may God be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said: ‘Do not consider even the smallest good deed as insignificant; even meeting your brother with a cheerful face is a good deed.” Muhammad believed every good deed was something to consider. Even just smiling is a good deed Muhammad believed in having good manners. He didn’t talk bad about people and wouldn’t listen to others talk bad about people.

Example Courteousness very polite in a way that shows respect Answer the Question in a full and complete sentence: Write what you think Nadia’s response would be and tell why she would respond this way: I believe Nadia would tell Mr. Rambis that according to her religion, Islam, she is to always be respectful and courteous. The Qur’an tells Muslims that they need to always be nice to people, and the Hadith tells Muslims the way Muhammad viewed treating others. Muhammad believed in always being nice to others, not even to listen to others talk bad about people.
