Your Opinion Matters!! There is a clothespin frame provided by Judy, one of our fitness instructors, hanging in my office. Feel free to share “suggestions” for the Warsaw Senior Center and hang it up. A survey will be coming out soon as well to gather your thoughts and your suggestions for the Warsaw Senior Center. This is your center and we want it to be a Fun, Comfortable, and Awesome place to be a part of. Teresa’s Corner…. The Senior Center at Warsaw has been running fantastically! I am very impressed with all of the hardworking, dedicated, and caring individuals that work, volunteer their time and regularly participate. I can tell in just the few weeks I’ve been in my position that people are passionate, and dedicated to the success of serving others. I have met most of you, but for those I have not met, my name is Teresa Torrence. I had the honor of being hired by Care Connection as the County Services Director for Benton County. I moved from Lenexa, Kansas the end of July after accepting this position. I worked in Telecom for over 32 years, managing various aspects of the network and people. I am married to Warren and we have four adult children, and six grandchildren. Upon moving to Warsaw, we had an English Bulldog named Rosie that we unfortunately laid to rest in mid-July. Needless to say, it has been a busy and challenging couple of months! I have met some wonderful people, and look forward to meeting more. I am proud to represent Warsaw, and Cole Camp Senior Centers for Care Connection. I look forward to working in the communities to share Care Connections Vision and Mission. Vision The people we serve will live with maximum independence, respect and dignity Mission Care Connection will provide resources and services that empower people to create healthy aging experiences

Did You Know? Upcoming Events September 9/21/18 Education session for FALLS Prevention It is so important to educate yourself on steps to take to prevent falls. As we age we lose some of our balance, and other things that take place in our lives that make it more difficult to prevent falls. Be sure to join us on 9/21/18 – during lunch for some great tips! 9/25/18 Benton County Senior Festival at Drakes Harbor. Kristin Fisher and Teresa Torrence will be representing Care Connection at this event to share our services with the Senior Community. October Care Connection will be celebrating their 45th Anniversary in October. Care Connection was founded in Oct. 1973. Care Connection serves in 13 counties through 22 Senior Centers and all of the centers will be hosting a week long celebration, October 1st through 5th to celebrate 45 years of service. One of the events here at the Warsaw Senior Center will be a Baby Picture Guessing Contest, so start looking for that cute little baby picture to bring in. Be sure to put your name on the back put it in an envelope (don’t show anybody!) You can place it in the donation box and we’ll get it to Sandy. Sandy will be working on the display, so the sooner you bring it in the better. We will all vote during our week of celebration and announce a winner on October 5th during lunch. Then we will return your picture. More details to follow on this event and many others! *Ask any of our Care Connection or Volunteer Staff where you can volunteer to help with some of our upcoming events. We would love for you to be an integral part of our Senior Center success, and we welcome all Volunteers. We will do our best to find the best fit for both you and the community you serve. Now is a good time to share some of the information that I have learned about Care Connection. Did you know in 2017, Care Connection served 11,069 people for all services offered?
