Schools and Businesses working together @FleggHighSch @FleggPrincipal

School aims Business aims Enterprise? Employability? Economic security? Financial awareness? Knowledge development? Good outcomes?

Enterprise education ‘…the process of equipping students (or graduates) with an enhanced capacity to generate ideas and the skills to make them happen.’ The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education 2012 Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Education: Guidelines for UK Higher Education Providers

Do we agree on the underlying values? Innovation Resilience Competence Communication Creativity Curiosity Empathy

There are too many options There is too much overlap at the same time as a lack of connection – common language/enterprise framework There is too much enterprise = entrepreneurship We forget what its like to be 15, 17, 19! There would be enough money and time if we decided it was worth it... so, heres the big secret, they can only get involved in trying to lead it because we are so terrible at it in education – we need to bring more to the table its also a massively easy policy push as there isnt really a loss for them because no money personnel etc its hard for us but we find it for lit and num so we have to decide whether we believe it is worth investing in it if it is we will make it work at a fundamental level we all do it already we just dont recognise it as such
