Year 7 Music Keyboard Skills Term 2

What is an Interval/Octave? What is a Stave? Key Questions: What is an Interval/Octave? What is a Stave? What is the pattern of notes on the keyboard? TODAY’S LESSON Lesson Objective: Perform right hand melodies in basic position. Key Words: Keyboard White & Black notes Interval Octave Stave Success Criteria: B3: Perform a simple tune and demonstrate co-ordination B4: Perform a simple tune with reasonable fluency and accuracy I know some notes on the musical stave I know the notes on the keyboard with the aid of a guide Pupils to work their way through the Keyboard Skills card this term. At teacher discretion, some of the pieces can be used to perform as a whole class ensemble. Start each lesson with a video of performance by the pianist Jarrod Radnich and discuss the techniques used to give a realistic performance.
