Using Technology to Manage & increase Efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments By Dr. Deepali Sawai

What to Manage ? Curricular Aspects Teaching, Learning & Evaluation Research, Consultancy & Extension Infrastructure & Learning Resources Students support & Progression Governance & Leadership Management Innovations and Best Practices Various stakeholders : Student & Parents, Director / Principal, HoD, Teaching & non-Teaching staff including Librarian and also Corporate Industries Using Technology to Manage & Increase efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18

A Typical Academic Year Goal for the year Committee wise Objectives Planning Implementation Feedback Strengths & Weakness Analysis Documenting Best Practices Using Technology to Manage & Increase efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18

Benchmarking the Efficiency ‘Benchmarks’ - The Pointers / Indicators for operating statistics, that reveal best practices ...  Helps to analyze and improve the performance to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency by comparing with best processes. To make it effective it’s vital to recognize ‘Where’, ‘What’ & ‘How’ about the technology implementation. Using Technology to Manage & Increase efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18

Working Effectiveness for a Training Establishment Efficiency & Quality in every activity or work assigned Availability of the data whenever needed as (DSS) Monitoring various processes like timely lectures, attendance of students as well as staff, movable asset tracking and so on Working on Feedback Security of the Institute & the assets Efficient working of library Is Efficiency = Effectiveness ? Using Technology to Manage & Increase efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18

Exponential Growth in Information & Communication Technology Adaption of New Technology is no longer optional Internet of things Using Technology to Manage & Increase efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments Internet Network of Computers Computer Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18

Exponential Growth in Information & Communication Technology Adaption of New Technology is no longer optional Cloud computing , Big data Analytics Using Technology to Manage & Increase efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments Smart Phone – SMS , Whats App / Social Network Internet - Email Pager Telephone/ Telegram / Trunk call Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18

Sensors/ NFA/ Bar Code reader/ Biometric Technology is converging & Interdependent Making it easier to exchange information in turn increasing the effectiveness Single Smart phone Calculator Alarm clock, reminders Camera/ Recorder Messaging SMS / Whats App Video call Internet GPS Sensors/ NFA/ Bar Code reader/ Biometric Apps Using Technology to Manage & Increase efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18

Technology transforms Teaching – Learning process Single Medium/Technology can not be best for all situations Blended Learning - best of both Teacher & Technology Personalized Learning – Intelligent Learning Learn the Learner as the learner learns , Students centric learning , Helps unique learning needs, self-paced personalized Learning The teachers may not be great teachers but technology would support great teaching – Smart classrooms, Virtual Classes, Language Lab, Online Tests, E-books, E-Journals, Social Media. Effective instructional methods - improve learning outcome across different media Using Technology to Manage & Increase efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18

In Nutshell .. Single Medium/Technology can not be best for all situations Technology may be efficient but may not be effective always. Where, What & How of Technology is important to make it effective in any scenario. Students are not always digitally literate in using technology to support their learning. Need to make the next gen, exponential thinkers with the exponential growth of technology. A single biggest reason why any business fail is because they over invest in ‘what is’ as opposed to ‘what might be’ Using Technology to Manage & Increase efficiencies in Training & Training Establishments RFID attendance std & staff Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18

Thank you ! Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director, IICMR, CPS 29-Dec-18
