MyWritingLabPlus Intro

What is MyWritingLabPlus? MyWritingLabPlus is an online writing, grammar, and research resource that all students have access to throughout their academic career. MyWritingLabPlus is used across disciplines. Most students will automatically have access to the program via the MyWritingLabPlus fee built into their tuition. Fee waiver students will need to pay the MyWritingLabPlus fee at the cashier’s office.

More about MyWritingLabPlus There are three areas you can utilize with your students within MyWritingLabPlus: MyWritingLabPlus is designed to help your students with writing & grammar necessary for persuasive, logical, & effective writing. This online program allows students access to work on grammar, mechanics, writing, & research skills at their own pace, on their own time. MyWritingLabPlus supports different learning styles as well, utilizing audio files, videos, & interactive exercises. Pearson Writer is a revolutionary digital tool for writers at all levels. Students can access it via the website or through the Pearson Writer app on their mobile device. Pearson Writer streamlines the tedious and time-consuming aspects of writing, so students can focus on developing their ideas. Features include a Writing, Grammar, & Research guide; Automatic Writing Review; a Citation Generator; a Research Database; and a Project and Task Manager to help students stay on top of their projects. This resource is an effective and useful tool for students in every class in which paper writing is essential. Pearson Tutor Services/Smarthinking allows students to submit papers of up to 15 pages in length on any subject and receive personalized feedback on grammar, content, and documentation from a person with a Master’s or PhD in that subject area. Papers come back, on average, within 24 hours.

MyWritingLabPlus Faculty can require students take the Path Builder (Pre Diagnostic) and Mastery Check (Post Diagnostic) to assess student knowledge. The Overview is an explanation of the topic. The Animation is a short video about the topic. The Recall requires students to answer 10 multiple choice questions about the topic. The Apply asks students to revise a paragraph using the knowledge they just learned.
