Local Supply Chain Opportunities – Durham County Council ~ £466m spend in 2015/16 Social Care largest proportion of budget £157m (~33%) 67% of procurement spend is attributed to NE Based businesses Of which 40% are County Durham Businesses … 30% are County Durham SME’s This is ~£141m of goods and services Council is committed to increasing this figure… Social Care (mention Profound) accounts for 33% of budget and 79% provided by NE businesses of which 57% of them are based in County Durham and 45% are County Durham SME’s

These include equipment and services related to landfill gas and leachate, transport of leachate, and other environmental control works. It is anticipated that several such contracts will arise in the coming year.
