Material Safety Data Sheet Chapter 6 Material Safety Data Sheet

What is a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)? MSDS used to assess the physical and health hazards of the chemical or product. MSDSs must be obtained and maintained for every chemical used in the workplace. The Laboratory Standard requires laboratories to keep Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) that are received from the manufacturer. The MSDSs must be accessible to all personnel during their work hours. What to do with MSDSs and where to find them? Many MSDSs are available via the World Wide Web.

Understanding MSDS information Chemical product and company identification. Hazardous Ingredients hazards identification First Aid measures Fire fighting measures Accidental release measures Handling and storage Exposure controls/personal protection Physical and chemical properties Stability and reactivity Toxicological information Ecological information Disposal consideration Transport Information Regulatory information Other information Lable information
