Purpose To clarify arguments Point out misinterpretations/ lack of evidence Note logical fallacies Show agreements Establish a criteria for voting

DO NOT Make statements or speeches Comment on the opponents answers Attack opponents on a personal level Emphasize lack of experience/knowledge. You will be dropped if you do any of the above in round.

Clarification Definitions Values Criterions Contentions (ask for tag-lines/summary or they’ll re-read the entire thing & waste time) Authors of cards and their experience. You’re allowed to ask to see their cards in round.

Clarification (cont.) How does your criterion achieve your value? How do your contentions link to your value? Could you explain the philosophy you use in your own words? (Get your opponent to admit your value is superior to theirs in some way) You claim (example), what is your reasoning for this?
