Job Performance Requirement 16-9 Safety Rules for Ambulance Stretchers

A Always make sure the patient is strapped securely prior to lifting, lowering, or moving.

B Any time that a stretcher is being moved a minimum of two rescuers should work together. JPR 16-9B

C The stretcher should be placed in the transport unit by the personnel responsible for operating the unit. Many times when firefighters or others attempt to assist, the stretcher gets unbalanced or in worst cases turns over. JPR 16-9C
