PLAN AND PREPARE WORK ARE AND VEHICLE FOR WHEEL BALANCING SO 4.1 PLAN AND PREPARE WORK ARE AND VEHICLE FOR WHEEL BALANCING Floors should be clean No obstruction around wheel balancing machine Loosen wheel nuts Jack vehicle up Remove and clean wheel and rim

PREPARE THE WHEEL BALANCING MACHINE SO 4.2 PREPARE THE WHEEL BALANCING MACHINE Turn on the balancer Clean the tire, rim flange and wheel Mount the tire/wheel assembly on a balancer 4. Enter the wheel dimensions

SO 4.3 PROCEDURE Lower the hood to spin the wheel and check dimensions BALANCE THE WHEEL PROCEDURE Lower the hood to spin the wheel and check dimensions 2. Raise the hood after the tire stops rotating 3. Note when the inboard center bar blinks 4. Attach inboard corrective weight 5. Press NEXT, which rotates the wheel 6. Note when the outboard center bar blinks 7. Attach outboard corrective weights 8. Lower the hood to re-run and check balance

PRACTICAL Your lecturer will now demonstrate how to: Prepare the machine and work area. Inspect the rim and tyres. Mount the rim onto the balancing machine. Import information into balancer computer. Do static and dynamic wheel balancing. Restore machine and work area.
