Neutrality and the Start of WWII LEQ’s: How did the U.S. strive to stay out of World War II? How did the U.S. become involved in WWII?

How did the U.S. strive to stay out of WWII? Scenario: You are an advisor to the president. What rules would make to keep your country out of war? Think of ways that draw countries into war How can you truly stay neutral Write your answers on you post-it and place on front board.

1- No supplying arms or loans to belligerent (at war) nations. 2- No traveling to belligerent nations 3- Non-military goods- paid in cash, carry on your own ships. “Cash and carry principles” 4- 1939- would sell to military goods to belligerent nations- “cash and carry” Neutrality Acts (1935-1937)
