Study skills Strong study habits are fundamental for academic success. Try these quick tips to be more successful. Establish a study space. Whether it is in the library, in the RSC or at a specific spot in your home, having a dedicated study space will help you get in the right frame of mind. Create a unique playlist for each class if you like to listen to music while you study. Use different artists or types of music for each class. Take notes in a different color of pen to color code your notes for each class. As soon as you can after class, review your notes so you can fill in any gaps. Review and preview the text before class so you can anticipate questions and the information you will cover. Find more study tips here (www.wichita.edu/studyskills). Fall 2017 Week 5

You may need to sacrifice some personal or social time in order to prepare as best you can. Create a study group to review information from class. Study groups and active learning can help you retain more information than if you studied on your own. Include students who are motivated to do well in your group.
