I thought you were my brother. titanomachy The Titanomachy was a war between the Titans and the Olympian Gods. Atlas, who was a leader of the Titans fought with his brother Menoetius. His other two brothers Prometheus and Epimetheus fought with the Olympians. I thought you were my brother. Boom!!!

Titanomachy Continued… The Titans lost the war. Zeus condemned Atlas to carry the heavens on his shoulders. In some versions he instead (or later) was appointed to the guardian of the pillars, which held the earth and the sky.

The 11th labor of Hercules I am Eurystheus. Get me Apples from the Garden of Hesperides. Where can they be? I will do that right now Eurystheus ordered Hercules to get the golden apples from Hera’s garden which were guarded by the Hesperides. But Hercules didn’t know where they were. Eventually he came to the Garden of the Hesperides, where he encountered Atlas. The Garden of Hesperides

Atlas Helps Hercules Hercules asks Atlas, if Atlas can get the apples. Sure… just hold the earth, so I can get them. Can you get me the apples? That’s sounds like a good deal! This is Heavy! Here you go. Hercules asks Atlas, if Atlas can get the apples. Atlas agrees because he gets a break from holding the earth. I’ll get the apples

I’ll do you a favor and give the apples to Eurystheus myself. Hercules Tricks him Can you just hold this till I get some cushions to more easily bear this tremendous weight. I’ll do you a favor and give the apples to Eurystheus myself. That’s no problem. That’s a great idea! Atlas comes back with the apples and tries to convince Hercules that he will give the apples to Eurystheus himself. Hercules acts like he agrees and tricks Atlas into holding the Earth. Hercules then runs away with the apples.

Perseus GET OUT OF HERE According to a later myth, when Perseus went to northwest Africa, a giant named Atlas tried to drive him away.

The power of Medusa’s Head Atlas Mountain Range What are you going to do? Noooooo.... Perseus then revealed Medusa’s head, whom he had killed. This turned Atlas to stone. Thus making the Atlas Mountain Range. The power of Medusa’s Head

Atlas mountain range map Atlas was associated with the Atlas Mountain Range in northwest Africa.
