What you will learn What a report is Why you should use a report

What is a report? When you view data in a database you can look at it in the table. However, the table view shows you all the records in a format similar to that of excel. When there are lots of records this view can become quite confusing.

What is a report? This view can then be printed onto paper. Reports are often given to people who need to know what information is in the system. For example, a shop owner my want a report on all his current stock levels.

Why use a Report? Reports are used to display data in a human friendly way. They can use queries which find specific data which means useful reports can be generated. Saves you the effort of having to make one manually too!
