Stomata

Where are stomata found?

Function of Stomata 1. Gas Exchange – carbon dioxide (CO2) enters, while oxygen (O2) exits

2. Transpiration – the evaporation of water through the stomata Function of Stomata 2. Transpiration – the evaporation of water through the stomata

Leaf Impressions

Estimating Number of Stomata Mentally divide the field of view into fourths. Count how many stomata there is in ¼ of the field of view. Multiply the number by 4 to get an estimate of the number of stomata in the whole field of view. EX: 12 x 4 = 48
