Management Degree Apprenticeships Karen Caine – Portfolio Director for Apprenticeships and Collaborations, Aston Business School CMI Partner Conference 2017

A new Hobby…. Chasing moving goal-posts! Stop!

Essential to: Follow the news – especially Educational news Get industry and professional body updates (including CMI) Share with each other Look on the government web site Don’t download a document once and expect it to stay the same!

Fortunately not needed… Any major changes to the CMDA programme itself to our good working relationship with CMI

We are learning where employers can need advice…e.g.... The levy amount is decided from whole UK PAYE, but UK-wide employers draw down funding for their employees in England, and need to look separately at provision in Scotland, Ireland and Wales. About 20% off the job what it means, how much time is needed directly (for visits, webinars, exams, etc) when it is most useful what influences employment contracts may have Picture: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:SVG_maps_of_the_United_Kingdom#/media/File:British_Isles_interactive.svg Based on work of User:TWCarlson and User:Cnbrb  - Based on File:Inshore_Waters_of_Great_Britain.svg andFile:British_Isles_United_Kingdom.svg CC0 File:British Isles interactive.svg Created: 1 January 2016

It is increasingly clear… We need close, trusting, partnerships…. .....even to do the admin! And to work increasingly closely .....reporting .....designing .....reviewing .....planning .....supporting

Leadership and Management Apprenticeships Evidence in our design… Important to apprentices Important to employers Important to our staff …And yes, important to our Senior Management

Strategic Importance Only last week our Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Helen Higson, stressed the importance of Degree Apprenticeships to all staff. https://vib.by/v/QkcH7GBsQ
