Year 6-Famous failures TEXTURE

Why are we studying this? This project will help us to understand - “famous failures” through looking at ancient architectural failings We will learn how to - use torn paper collage with purpose - research and take notes

Hagia Sophia Dome Collapse 532 CE The Lighthouse of Alexandra 280 to 247 BC Egypt’s Bent Pyramid 2600 BC Hagia Sophia Dome Collapse 532 CE https://weburbanist.com/2014/04/16/ancient-engineering-fail-12-historic-structural-disasters/ Stirling Bridge Collapse, 1297 Leaning Tower of Pisa, 1173 The Rialto Bridge, 1250

Research page… Choose one of the famous architectural failures and produce a research page about it. You might want to research a few of them first before deciding on one. You should include images of the structure and any other relevant images. If you have time, you could create a drawing of the structure too!

Create a collage / photomontage of a famous Architectural fail Things to remember… Choose colours wisely- think about colour combinations Enhance the feeling of damage and disrepair with torn edges Think about which area you will cover and which area you will leave as the image

Evaluation CHAT… During this project I learned about… I learned how to… I enjoyed… I am proud of…
