Stock Broker One that acts as an agent in the buying and selling of stocks.

Stocks and Shares Stocks Shares The number of shares that each stockholder possesses. Any of the equal parts into which the capital stock of a corporation or company is divided.

Bid and Ask Price Bid Price Ask Price The price at which a broker is willing to buy a certain security. The lowest price a seller of a stock is willing to accept for a share of that given stock.

Buying on Margin To buy securities by putting up only a part, or a margin, of the purchase price and borrowing the remainder. (loan)

Market Volume The total amount of transactions observed in a specific marketplace over a specified time frame.
