PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR ALTRUISM A pro-social behaviour where the motive to help is completely selfless. It is focused on the well-being or benefit of others without any thought to personal gain or reward PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR ALTRUISM Genuine altruism is an act in which no conscious thought is given to one’s own personal interests or wellbeing Even placing the survival of another person ahead of one’s own survival Batson & Moran (1999) People who had the opportunity to walk away from a distressing situation without helping, OR were offered rewards not to help, still chose to help someone in distress PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
