Car Rider Signs For the safety of our students, every student riding in a car will be required to have a DWE car rider sign. The names must be written in black marker so they are easy to see.

Inclement Weather All students should be either a front car rider or a side car rider on inclement weather days (Excluding YMCA, Daycare, and Bus). Please make sure the teacher knows the inclement weather plan. Take a car rider sign for those days.

Dismissal - Regular - Rainy Please send a note or send the office a written notice (e-mail) by 2:30, if there is a change in your child’s dismissal plans, whether the change is permanent or just for the day.

GT Referral GT Referral Window is August 20th - September 18th. During this time parents or teachers may refer a student. All testing will take place on our campus during a window between September 24th - December 19th, 2018. The Building Selection Committee will determine placement in the G/T program by February 1, 2019. If you would like to refer your child, please contact Debbie Sterling, Extended Learning Teacher, at 281-641-2239 or dsterli@humbleisd.net. Upon request to refer, she will email you a referral form to fill out. She will also send home a Scales for Identifying Gifted Students Survey(SIGS) that must be completed by the parent of the student before testing can begin. You may go to Ms. Sterling’s website for more information on testing and a link to the referral form.

Birthday Books Please support our library through our Birthday Book program. It is easy. It's quick, and it's amazing. All you have to do is go through our online payment website (Revtrack). Make your donation at https://humbleisd.revtrak.net/Deerwood-Elementary-School/dwe-birthday-book/ Your child will be called to the library within their birthday month. Your Dolphin will get a picture with the book and their picture on the wall. Your student will get their book to check out for a while. They can share with their class and their family. Once the book is returned, it will be in the library for everyone to enjoy.

PTA Announcement Hi Parents! Don't forget to login and update your account information on the PTA website. This is important to ensure you are receiving information on events at the school. Every child in the school needs to pay their classroom party fee. You can do this on our website. You do not have to join PTA to make this payment.
