Quick Poll Does your fundraising team reflect the community you serve? Or do they have access to the community served? Do you know the diversity of your donors? Have you had disagreements in the fundraising committee about who or how to approach a segment? Do you feel safe in your environment?

Steps to Diversity Create a diverse executive team Collaborate with diverse vendors, service providers, business partners Seek reciprocity for licensing agreements Address transportation issues Accommodate veterans, disabled persons, nursing mothers, religious practices, workers in recovery, paid family leave Train staff and volunteers about embracing people of diverse backgrounds Ensure that all meetings are safe for all employees, volunteers and board members. Have a policy that allows people to address differences without being reprimanded and to allow personal reflection on behavior. Look at your donation data, look for trends missed due to diversity
