Volume 54, Issue 4, Pages 778-784 (October 2008) Results of Endoluminal Occlusion of the Inferior Vena Cava During Radical Nephrectomy and Thrombectomy  Laurent Zini, Mohamed Koussa, Stephan Haulon, Christophe Decoene, Jean-Christophe Fantoni, Jacques Biserte, Arnauld Villers  European Urology  Volume 54, Issue 4, Pages 778-784 (October 2008) DOI: 10.1016/j.eururo.2008.05.016 Copyright © 2008 European Association of Urology Terms and Conditions

Fig. 1 Right renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombus (T). Infrahepatic approach to control a retrohepatic IVC thrombi. Division of renal artery (RA). Contralateral renal vein and infrarenal IVC blood flow controlled with Rummel tourniquets. A short cavotomy (C) at the level of the renal vein (RV) allowed endoluminal occlusion of the IVC with a balloon catheter (BC) placed distal to the thrombi under transesophageal echocardiography. Thrombectomy and radical nephrectomy were then performed. European Urology 2008 54, 778-784DOI: (10.1016/j.eururo.2008.05.016) Copyright © 2008 European Association of Urology Terms and Conditions
