Tools or Toys? There’s no doubt that cell phones are a convenient way to communicate and stay organized. Cell phones can also occupy idle time, whether it’s with gaming or educational apps. It’s no wonder why every year, more and more people become cell phone dependent.

Tools or Toys, cont. Cell phones can also be annoying and even isolating. Have you used your phone during a movie at a theatre? https://youtu.be/GV7H8SKCeKQ Do you find yourself bumping into others as you walk and text? Have you used your phone in class to avoid participating in discussion?

Assignment 1 Create 5 guidelines for cell phone etiquette. Write each guideline on a separate post-it. Place post-it on board/wall.

Assignment 2 On a google doc . . . Identify a cell phone law in this state and the date the law became effective. Elaborate on the reason for the law. Describe the consequences of breaking the law. Hypothesize on what would happen if the law did not exist.
