7th GRADE STUDENTS ARE SCHEDULED FOR BOTH ART & MUSIC THE ARTS The Bellmore-Merrick CHSD places tremendous value on the Arts in Education. 7th GRADE STUDENTS ARE SCHEDULED FOR BOTH ART & MUSIC *These are full year courses that meet every other day.

7TH GRADE ART This introductory course serves as the foundation for all future secondary level art courses. Some of the topics covered will be observational drawing, shading , the elements of art, and color theory. In this class students will gain experience in using colored pencils, graphite pencils, paint, oil pastels, and pen and ink.

7TH GRADE MUSIC Students choose ONE from the following four options – CHORUS   Performance ensemble Open to ALL students BAND Prerequisite: Students must have completed AT LEAST 2 years of the elementary band program (5th & 6th consecutively)  ORCHESTRA Prerequisite: Students must have completed AT LEAST 3 years of the elementary orchestra program (4th, 5th & 6th consecutively) INTRO TO MUSIC NON PERFORMING CLASS No prerequisite Students will learn about music through a beginner level instrumental program Students choose ONE from the following four options –
