Students: how To Have a great year Take Responsibility for your Education Decide what your vision is for the year and communicate this to the MHS staff that can help you with accomplishing it. Develop an action plan with how you are going to make this happen. Grades – Self Assessment – Goals (How to achieve them – the resources you need) Attendance and Being on Time – Self Assessment Behavior – MHS Guiding Forces Leadership Development – Influencing others to be their best version Progress Monitor - Every TFT in Thursday

Trojan family time – student responsibilities TFT Student Responsibilities: The number one influence on student achievement is for students to self-report their grades, progress towards goals and personal expectations. Hattie, John (2012). Visible Learning for Teachers: Maximizing Impact on Learning. Routlege Students are responsible for attending class and participating in class activities and learning opportunities. During class on Tuesday’s, TFT’s will participate in an activity focused on the school-wide theme. During class on Thursday’s, students will be working on filling-out their progress monitoring grids, setting goals for growth, working on academic progress, and/or conferencing with their TFT Teacher to discuss their progress. Students will also use the Monroe High School Leadership Attribute Rubric to self-assess themselves in the areas of responsibility, respect, reliability, collaboration/teamwork, and self-management. Students will keep these rubrics in their TFT folders, and teachers will use student assessments, along with their own observations to assign a grade to students in TFT.
